Prerequisites: Before attending this course, students must professional experience in:-Windows Server 2003 or 2008 including directory services.-Windows XP or Vista and Office/Outlook.-Windows-based mobile devices and mobile Office/Outlook.-Asynchronous networking technologies including TCP/IP, messaging transports, remote access, VPNs.-Storage and Storage Area Networks (SANs), clustering, load balancing.-Basic virtualization concepts (e.g. VMWare and basic awareness of Hyper-V) but are not experienced with the details of Windows Server Hyper-V.-General IT operations concepts and procedures including service level management, high availability and disaster recovery, and change management.-Understand the basics of IT security including network authentication, access control, encryption, edge security, malicious software and anti-virus/anti-spam concepts as well as basic messaging security concepts but they are not experts in security or messaging security/privacy/compliance and do not have more than a cursory awareness of Forefront Security for Exchange.-Familiar with basic Exchange Management Shell/PowerShell capabilities but they are not familiar with Windows PowerShell 2.0 that is used by Exchange Server 2010 Management Shell.-The portion of the audience that is still using Exchange 2003 and are not familiar with the server roles introduced in Exchange Server 2007.-Not familiar with Unified Communications technologies/solutions and are not familiar with synchronous communications technologies, VoIP, or voice and data integration technologies. -Familiar with basic concepts of cloud computing and hosted services but are not familiar with hosted Exchange services.
